What is Dry Ice?

A Block of dry ice is what we are calling 5 Slices. Slices of dry ice are approximately 12" X 12" X 2" and weigh 12 lbs each at creation. The dry ice slices immediately start sublimating, so slightly less than 12 lbs at delivery time. |

We stack 5 slices
together to make what we call a Block. 60 lbs of dry
ice. You can order a Block or a Half Block for
delivery. We can provide a paper bag for these blocks of dry ice, if requested, so that they are a little easier to handle. |

These extruded, finger-sized cylindrical segments of dry ice are what we are calling Pellets Our dry ice pellets
look like little dowel rod sections half an inch long to a couple of
inches long. These are great for packing, filling in odd spaces,
and mailing temperature sensitive objects. 12 lbs of pellets will melt (turn to gas) quicker than a 12 lb slice because the pellets have a greater surface area, so absort heat faster. |

We sell the pellets for
delivery by the Box (50 lbs) or Half Box (25 lbs). Like with
Blocks, please call the office for the current prices (713-944-7900) We're open to the public Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM you're welcome to come buy as little as 1 lb if that's all you need. |

Large orders are great
too, here's a stack of 30 boxes of pellets (1500 lbs) getting loaded up
for a weekly customer. Plenty of our customer just order 1 half-box of dry ice pellets, and we're equally happy to fulfill that order! |
